Can any one help the engine light is on with code 16556 bank1 too rich .The car is a octy 2.0 petrol .The car as a new lumber sensors ,new cooling sensor,new air meter but the light is still coming on.The outside temp sensor is reading 19c but it was only about 10c.

Is it using any oil?

The car doesnt use a lot of oil.

OK thats good news then and one avenue closed which is good.

I would advise cleaning out and resetting the throttle valve next and see how you get on.

There is a daignostic flow chart for you dealer to follow on this one. What age is your car? IIRC pre 2001 cars have a known fault with the programming of the altitiude sensor software in the engine ECU. This tells the car that its up a mountain so it alters the fuel mixture to suit the thinner air.

The age of car is 2001 X reg .The car was tested on a lap top two days ago. The outside temp was reading 19c on the air meter but it was only about 10c. The air meter is new.

Which O2 sensor did you change, before or after the cat ?

Both 02 sensors.

I would be tempted to get them to check the version of the engine ECU against the skoda info sheet.
