Creaky seats

Featured Replies

Help! My Octavia has creaky seats, and it's driving me nuts! Is there anything i can do about them? Admittedly, when driving on a smooth road it's not a problem, but on a bumpy backroad or when manouvering the backs of both front seats creak away like crazy(There does actually have to be a passenger for the passenger seat to creak). In many respects, my Octy is the best car i've ever had, but i'd love to be able to sort this out, it really spoils it,

Regards

Marge

It may sound simple but moving the seat movement slightly that could help ...

Hmm mines is ok, my old clio seats used to squeak a bit tightening up the nuts which connected the base to the floor sorted that.

I'd try to get my head down the back and find out exactly where it's coming from, then tighten or oil as required

I agree. Not with an Octy, but on a few previous cars with such problems, adjusting the seat distance from the steering wheel, even a could of centimetres (so as still driveable) has removed creaks! I guess it comes from the seat being sat on the the same position for many miles?

Just cranking the height up and down stops the occasional creaking on mine.
