1.9TDi fuel filter

Featured Replies

Does anyone have the answer to what is holding the diesel fuel filter in place ? I disconnected all the pipes but the filter remains solidly in place in the holder - as per usual I dont want to force anything !! the car is a standard fabia 1.9tdi 2003. thanks

If it's the same as the fabia Vrs there are iirc three heavy plastic clips around the top of the casing holding the filter a screwdriver to ease them back and out comes filter.

Hope this helps

Regards Whoosh

From memory there should be some black clips that hold the filter in place. These are around the top of the filter.

Thanks guys - I spotted these plastic clips and held them away from the filter but it stayed solid - I haven't checked it against my own SE but did note that in haynes it said to remove a screw - I couldn't see one !!

Throw Haynes manual away mate, follow this link, http://www.mediafire...32vct1hmvx1rz?? then you can download the proper workshop manual. I've put mine on word and saved 'cos there were slow running issues with the manual which drove me round the bend (not known for being the most patient of people me) :giggle: Hope this helps.

Sorry mate, just tried the link to see if it was working ok and for some reason it's not working. If I find out why and how to fix it I'll get back to you with the info.

Really weird, I just tried it again and now it's working fine :wonder:
