yes they can be removed, but its fiddly, you have to un plastic weld so to speak. And recovering costs around 200-300 depening on leather. £150, maybe 200, maybe a little more, if you are lucky, but they aren't worth a huge amount due to the fact they are naff really as a seat, most people want the golf recaros/r32 konigs or the s3 recaros as upgrades. The fact they dont have airbags limits the market somewhat.

Had my door cards and seat centres changed to a light grey leather a few years back by a friend of a friend who is a vehicle re trimmer so it can definately be done but depending on price you could possibly source a set of factory leather ones from an l&k as mentioned,I did mine as the mesh was looking grubby and chose light grey so it kind of looked the same but was easier to clean than the mesh but due to neglecting it i'm in the process of dying the leather on the door cards black and I've looped through the stitching with green thread which looks pretty good

I replaced my Front seats with some Mk 4 golf recaros. Sold the VRS ones which were mint for £160

I meant did the sale include the door cards...

Well I had the door cards and seat centres done,can't remember how much as it was a number of years ago but it was a guvvy job as the guy was a friend of a friend but think I sourced the hide in light grey then think he charged about £200 to do the job,really neglected it though and drivers seat is a right mess but a bit at a time I've been dying the sections black and then going over the stitching with green to make it look a bit better,still need to do the seats still but ain't got much time to do it and as I need the car daily I can't take it off the road but I'll sort it eventually

Sorry Oet,saw your post too late,I don't have any pics,my oldest friend was a leather retrimmer(automotive),I stayed with him and learned for a while,and is not very hard at all.He got married and moved away.I never had a chance to retrim something by myself,but the door cards on my car will be the first to start,I'm feeling quite confident Maybe I'm just stupid,who knows
