Things I learned today

Featured Replies

Today I learned 5 things.

1.) It takes less than 15 hours for the battery to run flat when leaving the lights on on a vrs. DRLs only stay lit I think.

2.) LEDs clearly use more power than I'd thought.

3.) I have a car too ugly for my sub-conscious to think of taking a backward glance when parking up and leaving for the night. Or I would've notice lights left on.

4.) I am too used to the automatic lights in my previous car (I don't think I touched the light switch for 5 years!)

5.) I am an idiot!

Was it Sidelights, front & rear & number plate, or

Was it one Sidelight, front & rear and half the number plate you left on?

ie the Parking lights with the indicator stalk down,.

(they can flatten the battery in a good few hours)

You get a 'Bong' with the lights on or when setting the parking lights and removing the key.

Or how can you leave on DRLs without the key on in the ignition.?

Don't be so hard on yourself ;) your not alone I think

I miss the "Auto" lights on the Scirocco - although the only difference I found between all 4 positions (Off, Side, Head, Auto) was the dash lights coming on or off.... I've sort of got back into the habit of switching the lights on (not always off though).

On the contrary, I always like to see how my car looks as I am walking away from it when parked  , and I like what I see!

Maybe it's the wheels and color combo I guess... :giggle:

I try to park mine so I can see through the itchen window ! The looks of my all black vRS have grown on me big time and I think she is a looker!

I bought the VRS cos it is an unassuming car, no stand out looks and people don't look twice at it............... Because I have usually blitzed them from the lights and there is no chance of another glance!

As for lights being left on this is an easy oversight, I also struggle with the wipers not coming on when it rains like it does in the Yeti, but then make a tit of myself in the Yeti as it doesn't change gear for you like the Fabia.

don't feel so bad, my wife left my sat nav mirror on in my Monte and the battery was dead flat in 24 hours
