Hi. Not the usual question. However when I got my fl vrs estate earlier this year I had my local Skoda dealer service the car and also retro for genuine rear parking sensors. My question is should they just beep or should I get a display on the maxi dot and Valero stereo. As at the moment all I get is the beeping. Thanks in advance

I think the option is switched 'On' using the VCDS software?

Have you set the Bolero up i.e. selected to display the parking sensors graphically?

Could be as simple as that?

I was going to get Audi to fit rear parking sensors on my last car until I was told that it would be audio only, no graphic despite the car having factory satnav fitted.

I have been told that it would need to be done with VCDS.

Factory fit gives a display on the Bolero showing a distance graphic for each sensor. Nothing on maxidot.

I thought the dealer after-fit units were different - no option to display on the head unit.

As above, I understand only factory fit rear sensors display on the head unit, dealer fit or aftermarket will only beep

aftermarket even if supplied and fitted by dealer will not be to factory standard. They use kits that take the feed from the reverse light

My dealer fit Kenwood Head unit gives both the parking and climate graphics.

My retro-fit Skoda 'kit' display on the Columbus or Bolero.

Did need to do some VCDS magic to get it to show though!

For factory fit should the optical display be on Columbus? Or just the bolero? Ta

Either. Bolero was standard radio, Columbus was an optional upgrade AFAIK.

Well my Columbus and sensors definitely came as factory fitted options and there is no ops as far as I can see, so I might look harder at the manual. Not sure I should be looking at that screen while reversing mind....

Thanks for all the replies. Kind of agree with you adamal need to be looking on mirrors when going backwards or I might find myself in trouble like the wife did in my old car when someone put a 50yr old tree in her way
