What are the vrs rear brake upgrade options

Featured Replies

Seeing ive been peeking at cupra brakes....

I was wondering what or if there are many rear brake options ?

Parachute? lol.

330mm 4 pots ;-)

Don't bother, because under heavy braking rear dynamic load and hence the energy the rear brakes can dissipate before they lock/ABS cuts in tends to 0.

agreed, dont need rears mate the car is awesome with 256mm rear and 323mm brembos on fromnt

Stock they will stay then :)

Just some cupra brakes then

334x32 at the back is a bit over the top? The problem is with the handbrake, I thought about Brembo 4pots from the Peugeot 406 V6 that the thickness is about right, but what about the hand brake?

I thought there is a kit to mount the 312s on the rear...

Think the silver bullet had them.

That used to have a 330mm bell/rotor fitted to the OEM single floating piston caliper

There was also an (ex?) member who did a carrier spacer to fit 312mm disk to the rear (using OEM caliper), but never got producing any for sale

... but what about the hand brake?

The existing caliper could be used, there are also aftermarket handbrake calipers that could potentially be fitted

fair enough, how will the two calipers in each wheel will be fed with brake fluid? and how will the additional caliper's brackets/adaptors (lets say the 4pot brembo) will mount and where?

You will only use original for handbrake ands that's cable operated !! Custom brackets needed

I'm hoping to win a pair of 2 pot aps off a Tvr on the bay to mount onto the 330 rears I'm running

doubtful imo

They have the carrier built into the caliper, not much chance it'd fit to the hub

sorry Lloyd,

Would these fit the front?

I dont think the carriers will be your main concern. The real problem is with how 'fat' the calipers are and whether you will need spacers to fit them in your wheels. I had that issue with the 996 Turbo 4pot and I learned the hard way... so be aware. I had to buy a 30 offset wheel with 15mm spacers in each wheel to have 4mm space between the wheel and the caliper.

anyone with info about the guy that fitted the 312 disc at the back with the factory VRS calipers?
