Typical Clutch and DMF Replacement Cost

Featured Replies

I'm weighing up keeping or replacing my standard 04 VRS, which is now on 159k miles, but still runs perfectly well. I'm considering the risk of any potential big bills, especially after replacing the turbo earlier in the year.

How much would a typical standard clutch and DMF replacement be? My local VAG independent does all the work and servicing on my car.

It would suit me to keep the car for another year, then get a newer replacement.

I paid £400 for my clutch and flywheel but then you've got the fitting on top

The flywheel is generally £250 for dmf or a bit cheaper for solid

I'd probably get it replaced, when I was looking for vrs up to a certain mileage I was looking to see whether or not they'd had a clutch & DMF change :)

I have a receipt for my clutch and flywheel costing near £400, then fitting on top.

As mentioned about, I recently had mine replaced, Clutch plus DMF was a shade over £400, then £250 for fitting.

Most places seem to charge a flat rate for this now, rather than the labour time. See if you can find somewhere that will do it for labour time, as it generally takes an experienced mechanic around 4/5 hours to do I would say

Alex

Mine was £80 :)

Labour only of course.

Clutch FW and bearing was £375 from ECP for a Valeo unit.

We charge £250 across the Skoda range. If you sign up for a hourly rate you may leave yourself open to be charged for more than a flat rate.... Try to find a mechanic with lots of clutch experience not just experience. Its a very specialist job and you usually get what you pay for.

Unless you go to a dealer lol.

I paid around £150 at unit 18 last time! Great value.

Ordered a 8 paddle clutch and smf from Cg Motorsport that's getting fitted tomorrow so can't wait no more clutch slipping!! Must have been the new turbo a put on last week haha! £1200 in a week is no fun!!
