new to the site so a big high to all ..

had my 2.0 vrs octavia about three years its always been a good car had no major probs with it just general servicing lots tyres and brake pads !!!!

but the engine coolant light has started to come on when i start up and stays on for about 15 mins

the light is red and beeps three times

the car is not overheating and i have checked the level it is at the black line on the fill tank not on min.

i have only been doing short distances and do not have money to put in the garage at the moment.

however do have some long runs coming up with christmas.... and i dont want to kill my vrs

so my question is..

1. is this a common fault which should wait till after christmas

2. is there any checks i can do myself

3.am i doing damage and just need to book it in as soon as...

any help would be appreciated
