Sometimes (most of the time) when I start up my car it idles quite roughly and sometimes (on full gas) it chokes.. anyone know what that might be?

A diagnostic scan with VAGCOM/VCDS or similar would be a good starting point

Could well be in need of throttle body alignment/cleaning
