P3111 fault code

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

The other night my octavia had a problem starting, it would turn over & fire & as soon as the accelerator was engaged to start moving it would cut out.

I left it for 10 mins, went back to it & no problems since then.

Anyhow, scanned the car this afternoon to see if any codes were logged & this 1 appeared.

But what does it mean in?

Found the technical meaning but that doesn't mean anything to me! Can anyone help with it?

P3111

Valve for Pump - Jet: Cylinder 8 (N304), Regulation Range Exceeded.

Cheers.

It usually indicates that the wiring to an injector is at fault, or the injector itself sticking

So bad contact on wires would be best place to start.

Can you see the wiring to the injectors if the engine cover is removed?

Im not sure, my opinion would be yes, but these engines sometimes have the injectors that are run by cam position, and are more internal. I do however think you should be able to see them on yours.

The wires either tend to chafe, or get affected by heat/vibration, might be worth spraying contact cleaner in side the plugs to injector and agitate it to clean them. It is worth a look, but also may be an isolated incident, never to reappear
