Fabia vRS....What a car

Featured Replies

I've had some really nice fast cars in my time, Imprezas, S2000's to name a few. I gotta say it may be just a 12k hatch but imho its an absolutely superb car to drive. It complements the Integra Type-R thats in my garage in fact its so good I am considering selling the Teg as I get enough fun out of driving the Fab.

Honestly I am stunned by just how good a car it is to live with day to day.

I think theres quite a few content owners of Furby vRS's! The only thing is people are cottoning on, and now 6 in 10 Furbys sold are a vRS!

There is simply no competition for it imo. Unless you want a lower spec car with a crummy interior (roll on Ibiza FR) or the hideously overpriced, although better looking (inside and out) Polo... I think I made the right choice. No brainer really!

40mpg under hard driving, and over 50mpg when being careful. What more could you want. Could almost say it was practical, AND exciting. Now you don't see that very often!

Just out of interest..where did you get this statistic from?

Yeah, It's not bad:D

The Fabia vRS has generated some serious interest and money for Skoda, lets hope they re invest that into new models.

My dealer gave me that figure. Judging by the 05 reg cars I've seen, then I can believe its true!

I once owned a lancia Thema turbo (same engine as the integrale 220 bhp) and I thought that was the best car for overtaking on a-roads that I would ever see.... I can honestly say that the furby is just as good, surprised me a whole lot , I love it, I really do!

Some minor tweaks to it make it even better :D

It's a nice car for the money, it's not exclusive any longer that's for sure.

Residuals will definitely be dropping a little with the amount of supply though :(

Almost bought a Thema back in early eighties, got a Mk2 Uno turbo instead. Now that was way faster than my unmodded fabia and on a par with with my jabba one. I am confident of this as my brother still uses the uno now! Must be the last one left with a floor still in it!

Anyhow, sounds like I would have been very disappointed with a Thema from what you say. No faster than the stock fab vrshttp://www.briskoda.net/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif

Unhappy Strange as they quoted awesome performance figures for them at the time.

If you want a really fast thema, you gotta get the 8.32, 'cause that's the one with the ferrari engine in it ;) I also had an uno turbo in the 80's, they were awsomely quick, I had a bleed valve fitted, and the boost turned up to 1.2 bar (think they ran 0.8 as standard) And if you don't count top speed, that was the fastest accelerating car I ever had! 140bhp in a car that weighs as much as a box of cornflakes! could spin the wheels in third on a dry road! *sigh... misses that car........

impressed if yours is still going! like you say, don't see many of them now.... all fallen apart :(
