Frozen rubbers (not that sort!)

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any tips on how to prevent door seal rubbers freezing up in this cold weather, making it difficult to open the door in the morning?

Many thanks.

Mike.

Spray some silcon onto the rubber seal, also polish the paintwork it seals against.

Wipe around a thin smear of vaseline.

Avoid silicone if it gets on the paint its a nightmare!!

Agree on the vaseline or gummi pflege.

I spent 5 years living in Berlin and used it in temperatures down to -15 C in winter. I found it does work which is why I am still using it.

Buy some Gummi Pflege.

Which reminds me that I need to apply some after I have washed my wife's Fabia vRS tomorrow.

As suggested by DGW, Gummi Pflege is a great product to enhance your rubber seal durability.........;)
