I don't suppose anyone has an idea about the misfire counter on VCDS? I have a 2007 Octavia that has a rough idle I noticed that on group 15 and 16 cylinder 4 had 69 misfires in under a min. I swapped the coil pack with cylinder 1 but it's just the same. Also had new plugs 15K ago. Any ideas?

i had a intermittent miss fire recently which i suspected was a coil pack on its way out, (turned out it was), when ordering a new coil pack the service manager advised it could also be the wiring loom which is also a common problem area apparently, i think he quoted £60...ish, could be worth taking a look for any obvious signs of wear?

All looks well im going to get stuck in when the temperture gets 8 or above its far too cold lol

Which cylinder is the misfire on? Are the others ok? Is it only idle or WOT?

Sorry Martin just seen your post, It is only cylinder 4 on idle but not as bad underload. I did a compression test and 4 is weaker, I plan to investigate further when I have the time...

Curious it's mostly on idle, if it were a blocked injector you would expect it to happen when on WOT. The same with carbon buildup in the inlet manifold as it won't need the extra air on tick over.

Hopefully it's not a compression issue. Do you have the readings from the compression test?

I had a cylinder 3 misfire when the car was cold on my last injectors which I believed was a blocked injector, new injectors fixed it.

All were 13 bar apart from 4 which was 10 bar, Spec is 11-14 bar. It could be a coked up inlet valve on 4 that is not sealing properley, it is likely with the way direct injection is even after 20K they say the engines start to loose power.
