Skoda Suberb 2006 Gearbox ECU

Featured Replies

Hi fellow Skoda Owners,

I've had a 2.8 Skoda Superb (2006) from new and it now has 49,000 on the clock. It was not used for 1 month, On starting up, fault lights started flashing and after a 30 mile drive, the gear box started to play up by locking up and the car appeared to go into limp mode. A main dealer assessment found that the gearbox ECU had burnt out. Another clue to the cause may be that there was excessive condensation on the windscreen interior (never before). Water ingress via the pollen filters

Apparently, there are no replacement ECUs in the UK and it may be several weeks before one can be obtained.

Question. Has anyone else come across this problem? Can I seek some form of financial help from Skoda as I believe this may be a design fault? Do anyone know where a replacement ECU can be found?

Warm Regards on a bitter day.

Peter
