New Yeti Arrived!

Featured Replies

Picked up the new Yeti this morning. White, 140 tdi DSG Elegance with panoramic sunroof. Absolutely lovely car, drives wonderfully and put a smile on my face. Now to get home and get the winter wheels sorted before the next bout of snow. Trying to get her home clean is proving challenging! Need to get boot liner too so the dogs don't scratch her shiny new bumper!

Congratulations on the new arrival. Nice to see you got the sun roof option, I'm sure you'll appreciate it more when we get lighter nights or when driving during the day with the sun blind back even if you don't have it open. Keeping the car clean in these conditions is pretty hard. One 20 wet mile drive to work and mine was filthy the day after I cleaned it.

I see that you are from Germany so I guess winter boots should be more easily available. I hope you get them fitted before the next lot of white stuff descends.

Enjoy it. Panoramic roof is my favourite option by far! :-)

Thanks. Loving the roof, lets so much light in to counter the dark glass in the rear. Mrs C is gutted she couldn't come and collect her baby lol. HAdnt realised the Bolero was touchscreen either so having fun discovering stuff and lights going on when get out etc.

Another White Yeti and (former) VW California owner here. Good choice. Just sold my white VW California so down to the Yeti and caravan now. I must say that of all the cars I have owned in last 43 years (Yeti is my 100th - not rich just love cars before you ask), only 5 have made me want to drive all day. In order: 5th Sierra Cosworth , 4Th VW Lupo GTi, 3rd MR2 MK1, 2nd Impreza Turbo and 1st (now at aged 60) the Yeti.

Enjoy!

Not staying white at the moment and will be heading home tomorrow so good long drive to get to know her a bit better. I do love the Cali, which tows a caravan at times too but really impressed with the build of the Yeti and actually prefer the DSG delivery on the Yeti to the Cali but is pulling half the weight so a bit of an unfair comparison I suppose. Just hope Mrs C likes the car!

My most recent cars are 2 golf's S plate 130hp TDi & 51 plate 160hp TDi and a 135hp octavia TDi estate. You may see a theme as far as running gear goes!

Each was better than the previous, although I did prefer the 5 speed box over the 6 speed of the latter two.

Finally with the yeti I have reached a pinnacle, especially as I don't intend changing this car for a long time.

Well, how is it Jonceebee???

Well after driving a couple of days, my initial comments are: It beats my company car Toyota Prius in every respect. The DSG box is a dream, much better than the Prius. The ride superb, much better than the 15 inch Prius wheels, I can't understand what all the fuss is about regarding the 17 inch Yeti wheels. So far no rattles or buzzing noises, again the Prius seems to excel in this department, believe me everything rattles. I will be glad to see the back of it when I retire in March.

Comparing it to my Octavia, I would say the Yeti handles better and the engine is much quieter. The radio/telephone set up is great and worked first time via blue tooth, I was also impressed by the music 22GB on my phone coming through the speakers and controlled by the radio screen, brilliant !!

In fairness to the Octavia I feel the leather in my L & K model is better quality as is the carpet and odd other items the Octavia L & K offers. I will be keeping this a while as the space of the estate model cannot be beaten

One item on the Yeti I cannot understand when in auto light mode, why does one of either of the fog lights light up and not the other, I noticed this as I was about to put in the garage. Is something set up wrong? an answer would be appreciated. But overall the ligyt system is fantastic

They are called "cornering fog lights" and both should come on when you select reverse.

On left lock (or if you have your left indicator on) at under a certain speed the left fog lights up to illuminate the kerb, similarly on right lock (or right indicator) the right fog loghts up, and as Graham says, select reverse both come on.

And you'll get people pointing out that one of your lights isnt working, the reply being of course, that you have "cornering fog lights" just like BMW's, Mercs and other cars in the VAG range. They're great!

Mine do it WITHOUT the indicators being "on"!!

And it seems to be below 40 mph.

Thanks chaps, this site is great, everyone gets so involved. I will watch the lights with interest. These cars are such value I cannot see why any one looks at other models, unless you are super rich

Yes so does mine Graham. Actually, I did say on lock or with indicator on - maybe that bit got lost on its way to you, or you were having a busy night!!! :giggle:

Senior moment, John!

Driven Snowpup for a week now Dan covered. Just over 1k miles and have to say, SWMBO, is loving her new wheels, though she is yet to prize the keys out of my hands. The 3 hounds are loving the room too so success all round. Mpg reasonable, low 40s, even with not hanging around on the autobahns. Have stuck her winter shoes on 205/55 R16s on some alloys from ATU to keep her legal. Very small vibration coming from the dash at tickover in D1 when stood still which stops when in N but suspect that is just a frequency issue when in D at 800 rpm?

Otherwise, ,superb car.
