Would Chris Palmer from Southampton please stand up!

A letter in the motoring section following on from an article last week re: VW losing sales to Skoda and shared platforms. Chris very wisely decided against a Golf and bought an RS, with the money he's saved he's had it upped to 225bhp and had the brakes and suspension tweaked to cope with the extra 'oomph'. Another happy member of the smug club. But is it anyone on here?

Also a mention of new fuel injectors for the 90bhp TDi. Available from a company called van Aaken. An extra 19bhp and 38 lb ft of torque for

beat me to the post rich!

Sounds Dutch or Belgian...

Van Aaken has been running in the UK for a while - did the Can Bus controllers on TDi's about 5 years ago. Wiltshire ?

That is a bit pricey for the injector swap, as you dont actually have to change the injectors themselves - only the nozzles.

Not so simple for the PD models as you have to change the whole unit injector which aint cheap. :(

Crowthorne - on the TRL site

Yep - checking the website reveals that they only change the nozzles and not the whole injector assembly.

So what you are paying for is mainly labour charge as the nozzles themselves would be relatively cheap.

Only the subject of publications....one of the contributors to EVO has a red RS estate and in this month's edition said that he wanted to remap it and put bigger wheels on.

Wondered if anyone was going to drop him an email to tell him to check out Briskoda??

As no one is owning up to the letter I'm going to try dropping a line to the Sunday Times and see if they'll pass on our address. Worth a try. Sort of a 'Was it you...?'

The Sunday times is a great paper but I'd doubt they could be bothered to do that. Never know, nice enough people, when I went to a competition thing won by them a while back No harm in trying I suppose.
