VRS mud guards

Featured Replies

Credit where it's due, after reading the thread regarding whether standard mud guards would fit the vrs I decided that they would (they do) and bought some for the huge price of £12.50 delivered for all 4 from the eBay seller topupauto. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/topupauto?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

They arrived after just a week and I fitted them today (I'd post a picture but haven't a clue how to.) Perfect fit though did need to take the rear wheels off to 'get in there.' The fronts were fine without removing wheels if wheels turned to full lock either side.

The quality is as expected for £12.50. Nice finish but had to take a bit of stray plastic off one with a Stanley knife. Nothing too tricky.

Overall, thank you to whoever had previously linked to this seller. I can definitely recommend these for the cash. If only they made them to fit my Mazda I'd be ordering some for that too!

Just a note regarding the back wheels. Whilst it is tight I managed to do mine using an 'alen key shaped star' (whatever they are called) so it is possible without removal. Glad you are please - I agree they are a bargain at the price and arrived reasonably quickly too.

Agreed Paul! If you have the star shaped piece as an Allen key then easy peasy without removing wheels. I just had the little bit that you put in a drill or screwdriver so into the boot, everything out, wheels off etc... :-))

You will need some Torx keys or a right angle ratchet with torx bits. i did mine by jacking the rear corner up to give me an extra few inches of clearance in the wheel well. no need to take the wheels off.

I did buy a sat of those, but didnt fit my car (estate shape) so i went and got the genuine skoda parts. i notice the genuine flaps are slightly wider and deeper and make of more flexable plastic than the ebay ones.

pic of mine with the genuine skoda guards on.

Fwiw I managed to do my rear ones by just jacking up the rear corners. As the car rises I found there was enough clearance to screw it in with the wheel still in place

The OEM ones are much more fiddly to fit i can assure you as i fitted a set on my mums VRS

These are the Chinese ones for comparison purposes, the OEM ones are much better made and larger than the ebay ones but i think the latter look a little sportier and still do the job well

I've got the oem ones, which are bigger, but, agreed, the others look more "sporty".

Sadly, flaps do nothing to prevent the rear of the car getting very dirty, very quicky at this time of year.

Is that what you found?

Strange that

My OEM ones went straight on without any problems whatsover

Yep after fitting the genuine ones to my mums car and then fitting the Chinese ones to mine they were a doddle in comparison but I didn't remove any wheels in either case

Any chance of getting a couple of pics of them both, straight on from the rear and side and one like the angle above so we can see the difference between the two?

Do a search loads of pics have already been posted
