Dashboard flicker

Featured Replies

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, it seems like a strange one to me, but...

every now and then I get a dashboard flicker (as in, all interior lights go off and come back on in the blink of an eye, and no I'm not just blinking :wonder: ha).

Has anyone else had this happen? or have any idea whats causing it...?

It's bladdy annoying

Cheers

I have the lights on my fuel and temp dials flicker every now and then and the speedo, etc have started to flicker every now and then recently as well.

I took it to mean the LEDs are on the way out and won't worry about it too much.

Could be the cold weather draining the battery

I have the fuel/temp flicker throughout the year. :(

The battery should be fine, its not very old,car starts perfect even in the stupid temperatures we've been getting recently.

It's like the whole dash dips off for a split second, no warning lights flash...

I had this on my Fabia too, completely random.

Never did find out why, I just added it to the list 'yeah. . . it does that' type faults.

Its doing my head in! Alternator maybe?

Never had the lights flicker however I have before turned my lights off so all the dash lights go out and then the stereo lights start flashing... This has only happened the once...

If I have my wipers on, headlights on, and music on loud. Then my dash and interior lights will flicker. So in my case I assume its the drain on the battery.

I have a similar issue but with my double din headunit : \

never had the issue during summer time

edit: recently had a new battery

Get the alternator tested when its on idle and under load and see if its over charging.

If your getting weird readings check the wiring from the alternator before gettings a new one

Have you tried the dash light dimmer dial? Located next to headlight controls. These sometimes play up a bit, just wheel it back and forth a few times, see if it flickers whilst you turn it.

Kyle, I've got a topic pretty similar. http://www.briskoda....lights-problem/ Anything on there you are experiencing?

Mine doesnt seem quite that severe, mine is only a flash every so often.

however I have noticed my wipers do the same thing as your describing, suddenly deciding to be on constantly, then going back to intermittent.

I've had a bash with that a few times, setting it lower for a while for example, but I still got the occasional flicker.
