Looks good! I am going to get one of those spoilers as well! Does the oval exhaust tip go on ok? I thought there might be a problem as the tdi pipes bend downwards, thought tip might restrict flow. Does anyone else know anything about this?

Hmmm, the oval exhaust pipe, well at the moment I have had the twin pipes fitted. The dealer told me they broke a new pipe cutting tool trying to cut the curved ends off  mine were then clamped on. I have sent an email to skoda customer services asking about the oval pipe as the dealer says he is unable to get it.

As a matter of interest' date=' I see you have the nice 17" wheels on it. Now that comes with lowered suspension right? Or is it possible to order those wheels without the lowered suspension?

I quite like the ride on the standard Octavia but love those 17s. But adding 17s and a lowered suspension may harshen the ride too much for my liking.

For non-motorway driving on potential rough roads, does the 17s/lowered suspension combination make it all a bit too harsh? Bear in mind that the ultimate sporty drive is not what I'm looking for. It's comfort and cruiseability that I like. I've had my fair share of bone shakers.[/quote']

IMHO you will need to test drive one yourself, I ordered without testing but I was determined to have the alloys and a sportier car than any previous ones I,ve owned.

See that will be difficult since almost all Octavia's sold in Ireland will have your standard suspension set up. It's unlikely any dealer will have one in stock for test driving which is a pity. I'm sure though you could order the 17's on their own with standard suspension?

I can't answer whether you can get them seperately, you'll need to ask the dealers. I find the ride, exceptable infact better than my old octavia. It is bumpy on some surfaces and noisy (tyres) but not a boneshaker. Yes, I think the handling is greatly improved but as I'm still running the car in and have not had the chance to drive it properly, sorry (enthusiastically) without the family (moaning) it is hard to fully judge. I hope that helps.

You can't have the pegasus alloys without the sports suspension, I've already asked my dealer that one.

Yes I asked yesterday too at my local dealer. The 17s come with the sports suspension which is a pity. I find the standard suspension set up good enough.

but of course other wheels are available and do seem to work well with standard suspension ;)

I like the sputnik 17'' alloys in the accessories catalogue. Only trouble you can't specify them instead of the supplied wheels so I'd end up with a spare set of vega's.
