Steering goes heavy

Featured Replies

Sometimes now when i come to a near enough stand still (like at a junction) then go to turn left, my steering goes really heave

Ive had a bad knock on the left side

Sound familiar?

Perhaps the battery has been disturbed, or is just old. It would make sense as when you are driving the alternator is providing power for the steering but when at idle the battery has to do it.

I did think that. But its only doing it whilst turning left? Doing it pretty much all the time now seems to be getting worse? :(

It maybe the power stearing unit that is at bottom left side, above floor pan. This can get knocked easily, i know as this has happened to me!

Maybe the unit is leaking?

what did you have to do to fix it pal? New PAS pump?

Only when turning left, probably not the pump then as its pumping ok to turn right. Perhaps get it scanned for codes?
