So, who crashed a red Fabia vRS then?

Featured Replies

Up north somewhere - possibly in and around Merseyside? Red Fabia vRS 04 plate with HUGE rear end damage but untouched at the front?

WAS IT YOU?

(cuz if it was, I've got yer engine. :P :D)

ooooo, the Briskoda misquote engine could have a field day with that

Is it going to be a straight forward transplant Jason?

Can i ask you how much you paid for it (pm if neccessary)

I was going to ask you if they would sell you the injectors cheaper than to me?

Cheers

John

Price was A LOT (four figures) but worth it for end result IMO. Injectors were going to be

Why don't you get VAG-COM for yourself J.

If your gonna be modding your car a bit then you're gonna be using it more and more.

No, 04.... All I know.

I'm aiming for a smidge more than 40 extra horses now though. (Never been sure my car's been running a true 151, since getting a 143 figure on a RR down here a few months back....)

Who crashed a red one? dunno but I got a feeling a silver one might be going the same way soon enough.

 Who might that be? :P

Can't understand it myself, but hey if you're happy that's all that counts.

Yerh,me neither! Wouldve been better buying a real vRS for a start

Yep , given the expense of the new engine plus all the other bits to end up with a car that's no better than a VRS , older and with a very suspect resale value in the future.

Sorry J , but this doesn't make sense to me.

only worthwhile if you make the car absolutely silly really, tune the ass out of the block and do other high end mods that are way past the vRS

Could you not have got a 1.8T lump for that kind of price Jason? 1.8T Furby mmmmm...

Its your car so you can do what you want with it im not having a go...

I was thinking about a 1.8T conversion today, costs, insurance etc lol

I soon woke up :(

1.8T involves so much more though - new wiring to start with. (don't forget I'm spending 1/3 the amount on this little stunt, than the amount I'd need to spend to sell my TDI and buy a standard vRS. Remember that ONE THIRD the amount of money.... ;) Well, actually it might go nearer to half... but still. :D

Do not worry, it will be going beyond a normal remapped vRS... eventually. And resale? Not a consideration that I plan to ever need to think about.

Jase, just out of interest what effect is this having on your insurance - PM if you want? :)

Chris

Keep the vRS engine out and mod it first, then stick it in. Then, unless you've sold it, keep the 100TDi and prepare that to be stuck in when the vRS engine gets old. Result is 2 engines that would extend the life of your car to about 450k miles.

you should have gone for the seats as well, plus the airbag should not have gone off, so you could have had the full fake furby setup apart from ther front bumper (or is that in the pipeline too?)

Does that include any contingency funds for unexpected problems? I admit I know very little about the mechanical side of things, but there's no such thing as a simple swap, is there??

J-is your car goign to be runnign by brunters and are you going? i want to go just to see if it goes and if it does then how well it goes!
