My brother's 1.9PD 55plate has some vibration on moving off, but nothing the rest of the time.

DMF/clutch will need replacing eventually, but how bad to let it get ?

Wait for the death rattle on start up and switch off, or sooner ?.

Sooner and to a SMF, look at darkside developments.

If you are changing to a SMF do it straight away - enjoy the car it should have been all along.

If you are sticking with DMF might as well leave it a while - the new one won't be that much better and before long you will be back at the same stage anyway.

Another 120K will do me fine in that case !

Luckily, the supplying dealer fitted a new dmf to mine upon purchase, as a rattle was heard from behind nsf wheel. He did'nt realise the cost when he agreed to this. He thought a few hundred, but done at a skoda independant, it was circa £1100. (I paid a bit to get it done at the specialists).

Have not had the clutch done though & this has been fine. Still driving well 2 yrs later.
