170 pd vrs diesel

Featured Replies

Having just purchased an 06 reg VRS diesel with 43k miles.

I am having running problems the fuel consumption seems really low late 30s -40.

Becomes increasing lumpy under acceleration approximately 3k revs onwards.

Showing no fault codes or warning lights, can anyone offer me any advice

Thanks

Barry

fuel consumption depents entirely on how you drive it and in what conditions.

On a normal run of about 9 miles on A roads i get about 43-45, round town it can be as low as in the high 20's. All going on its average mpg calc ofcourse.

Has it had the injectors replaced?

Skoda UK are replacing the injectors for free under a national recall. Number of owners, mileage, age and service history doesn't affect the claim.

All PD170 engines are included. If its been done there will be a sticker next to the spare wheel.

If it hasn't had them then get it booked in. When it's in ask them to check the lumpiness.

Whats the sticker say or look like ? I have a 2007 pd170 and unsure if its been done.

Erm, not too sure without looking to be honest, you can't miss it though if it's there...

The other option is to ring Skoda UK direct with your reg number and ask them to check to see if its been done...

08457 745745.

It's worth checking as the parts including labour are well over £1000!

Thanks its booked into skoda main dealer for recall work.
