Looking good mate.

looks good, pretty much the same as my sdi when i had it only in black. I've still got the genuine skoda vrs door sill covers in the garage as well ;) removed all my vrs parts when i sold it.

only advice i can give is get a better camera tbh haha, nice job :)

would it not have been cheaper and easier to just buy a vrs ???

What do you do when you want to put something in the boot?

:/

I imagine he puts it on the back seat?

Surely these last two comments are a bit harsh. I am sure he is aware it would have been easier to buy a VRS but he's chosen not too, and I also have no doubt he can see that his boot is full of soundgear.

Or is it the Briskoda police striking out again against something different?

nope,

i can understand to a certain extent putting a bigger turbo / intercooler and a map on a vrs as you end up with something better than you can buy

but to do that to a standard sdi to convert it into a standard vrs which you could buy, why?

and at the end of the day the insurers will still value it as a sdi fabia regardless of the money, time and love spent on it

while it is cool to be able to do it, from a logical point of view i do not see the reasoning behind why do it

it will alsp lack the abs, traction control, brakes, esp etc of the VRS

Personally I think your comments are a little insensitive to the guys hard work. I am sure he is aware of all the facts but when you look at it like that why does anyone modify any car when there is always a better car that can be bought.

I suspect buying an SDI and just slapping on the bumpers works out a lot cheaper than buying a vRS, plus its likely cheaper to run being lower insurance group / less power, etc.

The only small thing letting it down now is the numberplate. Anyone with reasonable knowledge knows it will be a fake as the vRS came out on 53 (some 03) plate so a W reg will not be one. This is why I got a dateless plate for mine as running around in a Y reg lookalike vRS wasn't on. :)

Good effort overall though. It does look smart.

insurance is a big problem for me due to points and crashes this car owes me about 5500 at the min and i dont regret spending any of if tbf yh i could have brought a vrs i can buy one now if i would like to but dont see the point tbf when u buy a standard one you havent built your own car it would be a mk4 golf engine going in and traction control do you really need it??? i dont and yes this car is just used on a weekend garaged in the week as i have a work van so have no need or use for the boot except taking this to shows to show off my hard work

this car now has a private plate on these are just old pics :)

not meaning to be insensitive about the amount of time, money and hard work the guy has put into the car

upto the point where he said he was looking for a tdi engine, fully with him, car looks great and the work looks top rate

but once you start looking at an engine transplant i am not sure of the cost effectiveness, if the current engine was foobar and the replacement was uprated i could understand it better

as i say not meaning to undermine the amount of work done, just my own logical personal point of view, and yes i do drive a 1.2tdi GL II, but enjoy driving swmbo's mk1 Vrs when allowed

probably me being old ( i am wrong side of 40 :( ), will need to buy a flat cap soon, will go and sit in corner before i get called victor or say " i don't believe it"

Alot of people prefur driving an sdi over a tdi, but like the looks of a tdi vrs more...

I know people are saying it would be cheaper to just buy a vrs, but you would only buy a vrs and then spend more money changing the way a vrs looks and upgrading that so...

Although i've got a seat ibiza fr pd 130, im still thinking of buying another sdi and toyying on with it, i thought i sold my sdi with 125k on but just looked through paperwork i bought it in feb 2011 with 151k on the clock  maybe my girlfriend took it for a 'haircut' without telling me haha.

Nice/tasteful job so far. Keep up the good work.

Niiiice, looks a million times better than the first picture. If you can pick up a cheap engine/box and do the work yourself then could be onto a winner, otherwise I'd flog it when you want something quicker. From experience insurance companies don't like engine conversions :-/

Done anything inside?
