cleaned it all off following week same again ?

do a 11 mile trip in a morning temp 90c half way there and same home at night

water not gone down in header tank ?

any ideas please

"Following week same again?" Not sure if you're asking a question there, but I'm not sure I'd've driven a week like that without going to a dealer. I assume it's still under warranty?

Possibly condensation in the oil or gasket failure?

Condensation in the engine, check the breathers are clear and free flowing.

It does just sound like condensation build up as already mentioned check breather pipes are clear, also do you ever go on longer journeys? Sounds like a couple of long journeys now and then would help.

To be honest as its under warranty still just go there and get them to check it out to be on the safe side.

Have you been driving in the Floods recently or just the very heavy rain?

It needs the Oil & Filter changed now really.

I do not normally use an engine flush, preferring to run some cheap oil up to temperature & dispose of that.

after having dropping the stuff with moisture in,

I would not put off getting the Oil & Filter changed, Frosty/freezing Nights and moisture in the Oil is not a good thing.

When checking everything else, check that the Air Filter is Dry.

11 miles in the cold weather is not enough for the engine to get up to full temperature and enough time to then burn off the condensation that forms naturally as the car cools down again. Take the car for regular longer runs to avoid this occurring, other than that nothing to worry about.

if you need an excuse for a longer run try offering to take swmbo to her favourite shopping centre which is about an hour or so run

you should not then get any noise in left ear over needing to give car longer run

but remember to check / top up

  • oil level
  • water
  • screen wash
  • bank balance

:bandit::rofl::rock:

I agree with the above, a good, long run getting the temperature up will usually sort out emulsifying oil problems.

Make sure that thermostat is working properly to get upto operating temperature quickly.

You are all correct about the long run and sorting out the emulsifying problem, and inhibiting in the future.

But,

Do not take a risk now, you appear to have quite a bit of H20 already in your oil..

If you wipe off the cap and all stays clear after a good burn up the that is great.

Is the oil in now,

oil that you put in or what came with the car from the previous owner?

For the good future running of your engine i would get the stuff in now changed for a Know Oil.

ie, you know what is in.

Its not some old Rover V8 we are talking about after all.

thanks & will update on progress

( george am calling in for some more good oil in the morning but what cheap oil do you use to flush ? )

The very cheapest in the supermarket if i do distrust what is in an engine.

I Drop the original oil that it came with, but do not change the filter yet.

Put in the new cheap stuff and just bring it up to full running temp, but only really use it as a clean out.

Drop that & then change the filter.

(I keep burst oil for puting in chassis and stuff, or used to.)

That was not really in good engines tho, Just ones i wanted to run a while.

just old V8's and the likes. They really get Mayo with short runs,

often its just the previous owners oil or running regime.

all the best with it.
