DPF problems limp home

The ash mass is currently sitting at 60.54, how convenient! DPF load up to 24% and I'm driving to London in a bit so will be interesting to see if it follows the phases.

After returning from London (300 mile round trip) the particulate load went to 0%! But it soon rose again after going to work and back. I have noticed that as long as I dont accelerate above 2500rpm the glow plug light does not come on when cold. When hot the light doesnt come on at all.

As the ash level is high then your DPF is close to the end of its life.

The ash is one of the by-products created when the soot is burned off and cannot be removed.

The higher the ash content the less effective the DPF becomes making passive regeneration even less likely.

The DPF therefore relys more on active regens, which if the parameters are not met will result in several failed attempts, this is when the lights start.

The EML is a strange one though?

Get rid of the pd and buy a cr. pd gave us nothing but problems. 13 regens in less than 1 yr, No regens in 2.3/4 yrs with cr.

No regens in 2.3/4 yrs with cr.

Wow really? I get one approx every 800 miles

I think he meant to say noticeable regens.

The DPF is setup to regen every 600-800 miles whether it needs to or not.
