BT Homehub - Data Usage

Featured Replies

I seem to get over my speed too, always have, I'm currently hitting 12MB's when it should be 10.

I don't know either, but I'm not going to ring a complain lol

@ The OP

How did the neighbours get on ?? did you find out after ??

Stay away from Virgin Media if you dont like Traffic Management. They are the worst for it! Advertise silly speeds like 60Mb however you only get this until you have reached you limit.

They are far from the worst for traffic management, at least imhe. The Virgin limits don't seem too bad and, even on the bottom package, you have an allowance of 10.5Gb at full speed each day for 12 hours (and then you can continue downloading at 15Mbit/s). This then leaves you the other 12 hours "unlimited" at full speed.

Still, horses for courses I guess.

My dad was on Sky, hit 200k, switched to BT and hit 900. Then he moved elsewhere and got BT Infinity. Never once been throttled. Pays for 40mb, usually averages at 36 (well within tolerance of what most users should expect to hit compared to advertised speeds) but overnight can peak at 60.

Shame I'm stuck in a rural area on a max of 256k (of which I tend to average at 100). No ISP other than BT are even offering service. Unlimited downloads though at least, and its cheap.

I can't get anything other than BT where I live. Other ISPs say I am outside their coverage area. Bit pants.

The key was shared by me. All my other devices are passworded so they cannot access my files etc.

Won't be happening again.

Im perfectly happy with BT Infinity.. Yes they throttle torrents etc but it doesnt bother me.

According to BT:

Your average monthly usage is 264.56 GB.
