Got a bit of a strange problem, just wondering of other Fabia owners can confirm something ?

If you turn the sidelights on, so the dash is illuminated ... when you start (turn over) the car, do the dashboard lights stay on / dim or do they completely go out ?

My Fabia Sport dash lights go out completely ... is this normal ? All my previous cars dash lights would stay on or go dim but never out completely !

I've got no problems starting at all ... no inkling of anything going wrong except that sometimes the power steering light (steering wheel symbol) on the dash lights up ocassionally, and the headlights dim when I turn the steering wheel when parking (something I gather is a common problem with the Fabias) ..

You have an issue, my lights on both the 1.9TDI Elegance and the 1.6CRTDI Elegance do not dim and certainly they do not go out. Off to the dealer or indy specialist i think.

I had a very similar prob on my mk1 Fabia vrs tdi -dimming lights when parking, intermittent power steering light on dash and a couple of times the electrical assistance for the power steering cut out completely whilst driving. Traded it in soon after the problems set in so never found out the cause! ;-) I think quite a few had the same issue and it turned out to be an alternator issue?
