  • Almost good news for me then, as it rules out the injector really. I replaced my loom, that did not solve it. Have you tried adjusting the pedal as some have said previously?

  • This mentions the belt and pulley http://www.briskoda....es-please-help/

  • FYI. The noise had something to do with the Tandem Pump. Once replaced no noise or shake when cold. The car does still shake sometimes when warm however, especially if I am parked up hill. Turning

if it stops when you increase the revs it could be the aux belt tensioner or the clutch on the air con pump.

Could be an engine mount away - possible the rear mount bush is warn?

I have had the aux belt tensioner done bud. My air con is turned off - does it matter?

I doubt it bud I think its mis-firing or something. It were doing the same then Skoda replaced an injector and it stopped. Now its started again.

ok, take the plastic cover off the engine and your find a screw lock connector at the side of the head on the right - make sure this is properly screwed in - this is how mine was sabotaged. My engine management light came on and it misfired. Screwed it back into place and the car is now fine!

Did yours sound like that? When driving the car it is absolutely fine.. Pulls like a train it is just when cold and left to idle plus on warm up when idling. Hits 90 on the temp gauge and its fine!

Does it do this with the clutch down?

Yes, I have had the DMF and Clutch replaced as Skoda thought it may have been the issue.

Get it checked with Vagcom - could be a faulty temp sensor??

I have VCDS bud - Not faults what so ever. I am thinking I might approach a diesel specialist. We have a few here in my area.

The only other thing that springs to mind is a faulty a/c compressor clutch? Its an electro-magnetic jobbie which is always disengaged when the a/c light is off. However they connector can get damp and allow the clutch to suddently engage and disengage quickly. I had a similar thing on a 16V polo I had - we had to replace the a/c compressor

Does that run all the time?

yep! it it driven by the alternator belt, but the clutch is always disengaged when the a/c light is off - the clutch engages when you switch the a/c on the dash switch - then it drives the internals. If you dont run it for a while the seals dry out and then dirt and moisture gets into them and screws them up.

Press the a/c button on the dash and see if the noise stops??

I will try that and report back bud.

My mrs car sounded like that but constant at idle.

Confirmed the injector loom has broken and causing a mis fire

alternator one way clutch ?

Check this video out. This is exactly what mine does but as shaking shakes worse which makes the noise sound louder.

I have rest my foot on the accelerator slightly and all it does it make it shake quicker lol. Shaking goes at about 1800 RPM

Hey !! What happened to my post (should have been first after the query)

Oh well, hope this gets through.....

The video sounds like the clutch in the alternator pulley (not the tensioner pulley). If this is failing, then the effect will be for the alternator to snatch and cause the engine to move. This will be seen/felt as a vibration.

Well I tried with the AC on - Still Shook. Emailed Skoda again to tell them - Not got back too me yet but I will defiantly mention that too them!

Sounds a lot like an injector, if it is it will gradually get worse until it shakes when warm too.

Also the air con on mine doesn't have a clutch, it's a variable pump that is always on. It has variable sized displacement and is 2% on all the time to keep the system lubricated.

Just had injector 4 replaced to try fix it :( - It made the shaking alot less noticeable but were still there. Now its back to as if it wasn't replaced.
