Drown the engine time haha.

That's just stupid. Asking for trouble.

Good way to clean your inlet manifold :)

Well at least when you hydro lock the engine and pop the head off...

Usual failure is snapped main bearing caps or bent rods. I am always amazed how many people get away with it. Often the air filter clogs first and the engine stalls before catastrophe.

I've been wincing & grumbling at the telly all day watching the daft buggahs ploughing through flooded roads. I can only echo what nickguzzi says.

Renault once had a good idea. they put the inlet for the air filter low down at the front of the vehicle. Put an immediate stop to baffoons like this. Unfortunatly it was the only good idea they ever had.

Ex renault owner x2

Savannah 7 seater estate (Divorce, new wife 4 kids from 2 marriages) actually not a bad car. Usual french build quality or lack of, decent 2.2l turbo deisel engine, good a peeing off beemer drivers when puting ones foot down :giggle:

Clio. c'est merde

Polo 6N2 had the air intake low down too. Meant even a small puddle was a challenge.

As did the older ph1&2 306's

Idiot! Did the early Ford Galaxy's also suffer water in the intake isues

Really? Mine's in the wheel well, behind the arch liner and around the same height as the top of the wheel. Unless it's different on the non-GTis?

The 6n2s with a TDI or an SDI engine had their air filters down by the fog lights I think.
