Rumble from the back

Featured Replies

go a Fabia VRS, August 04 car, pre-new lights etc......

it had its warrenty work to replace the bolts on the diesel pump (as most have had I hope  ) completed last week....

at the weekend i noticed a rumble from the back end. Its speed related, not revs, and appears worst at around 50mph and its always there....

my dealer cant fit me in till 6th june so any ideas what it could be????

they say the warrenty work was just the front end diesel pumps so would not have touched the backend.

mine does the same, kind of an irritating rattle, worse in the wind. I have NO idea what causes it but PLEASE tell me when you find out

Have a look at the heat shield by the zorst, my worked it's way loose and made alot of noise the faster I got. Just push the clip fully back into place.

HTH

If its def a rumble try wheel Bearing ??

I have a similar problem, sounds as though one of the windows is slightly open and only happens at speed, i.e. on the motorway, and sounds ike its coming from the back of the car somewhere. So let me what happens. :D

its not a window, i checked that one and i checked the zorst shield and that is secure.... i think it will be a bearing or some other rotational item, brakes etc.... a 2 week wait to be seen by my dealer means 700+ miles so hopefully she`ll stay in one piece till then!!!

Checked your wheels are on tight? Sounds daft but an easy thing to check.
