Water Q?

Featured Replies

Ok, today I finaly changed psf and coolant, brake fluid and I had(I hope so) prevent water ingress problem.

I said hope so, because Im not 100% sure.(thats why I post this thread.)

Ok I removed the rubbers from the drainage holes(two of themes)..that it wasnt so hard.

And I removed pollen filter housing.

I bought some silicon seals and now we finally arriving to question.

Did I or didnt wrong when I take off the pollen filter foam seal(and trow it in the basket) and just put silicon seal?

Tnx very much for answers, this is a very mean to me.

As long as you used enough silicone sealant you did it correctly.

When I've done them, I always use about 150% of what I think is needed to make sure there is good contact between the surfaces. It's not easy to access the parts, so I always make sure IO don't have to do it twice.

You could always lift up the carpet and have somebody pour water down to see if it has sealed ... just make sure you put a towel in front of the ccm.

From what you say, it sound like you did it right.

Well, I put hole tube of silicon seal, and I waited to dry.

Did you take off that pollen filter foam seal or did you put seal on it?

It has been pain in the ... to remove pollen filter housing.

Yes mate, you remove the old foam.

I've seen a few people leave it in, but it makes no sense because it will rot and turn into powder over time. You did well young Jedi.
