noticed a single knock noise if i put my foot on throttle then again when i take it off, like a bush thats gone and knocking with the engine movement. theres alot of threads on upgrading bushes to stiff ones but im not after anything thats going to make the car stiff, i quite like comfort. can anyone recommend a kit? also does my knocking sould like an engine mount or this "dogbone" that keeps popping up

could well be the dogbone, which is another name for lower engine mount/tie bar

certainly the first place I'd look

I have the same sound and it sounds as if its coming from around the tunnel area. It also does it when braking? Coil that also be the dogbone? Sorry to hijack your thread.

yep could well be, the dogbone is the lower engine mount which stops (dampens) the on off/forward/back (torque) movement of the engine. it has rubber bushes which can degrade over time

Generally a powerflex bush is a good cheap alternative if you wish to upgrade at same time. Else stick with OEM..

I have a brand new one in the boot of my car was only fitted to my car for 50 miles or so. It also has the uprated THS rear bush fitted, which is a stronger rubber type rather than a poly bush so its not as harsh. I had to buy a new one when my front bush disintergrated and I couldn't have the car off the road, I only removed it as I completely polybushed my old one and refitted that.
