Exactly. Look at how a Tiguan's doors work. They go totally over the sill which as you'd expect is now also the thickness of a door closer to the seat. So you get in easier as there is less car to step over AND the mud outside opens away with the door.

Strangely this works no matter how high the car is from the ground. Doh.

True more vulnerable going off-road but how many buyers ever do that? So Tiguan doors on Yeti II please Škoda. Ta.
