Better speakers!

Featured Replies

Want to get some speakers to replace the OEM ones, in my Furby Mk1 but have no clue about this subject! Want some more bass, but don't wanna go with a sub!

MK1 Fabia VRS - Black Magic - KW Coilovers - 17" Spyders - Seat Splitter - Full Black Leather - AmD Remap

I've heard the Hertz make some really good speakers, I'm in the same position as well

buddy im the same, if anyone could help me out, either a good set of 6" x 9"s or door speakers, which to replace with what??any suggestions would be a help!cheers

Component speakers with separate tweeter/speaker with crossover.

Sizey1980 - Yeah I wanna upgrade my speakers too. The tweeters on the rear drivers side door are quite close to ears when I drive, plus they have blown....not a very nice experience.

I have an older version of these and they sound pretty good and well balanced, http://www.ebay.co.u...872243095&ps=54

Would these speakers able to fit into the existing speaker fixtures? Not looking to have extra speakers stickin out from all angles...plus I wanna hook em up to my stock symphony head unit.

I was looking at fitting hertz speakers but they are far too deep to fit into the fabia.

There isn't much depth in the fabia doors, which rules out quite a few speakers.

I went for Massive Audio SK6's http://www.massiveau...onent-speakers/

One of the best Slim speakers IMO

It might also be worth thinking about amping the speakers, as that will make them sound alot better.

It all depends on what you're wanting to spend though, as you can spend anywhere from £20 to several hundred on speakers.

I have unplugged my rear tweeters after upgrading the fronts. They were making everything far too trebly!

Simply unplug them from the speaker in the parcel shelf edges in the boot. (Just put a song on and unplug a cable on each side. If the speaker in the boot does, unplug the other one).

As far as upgrading goes - door speakers in the front will have a bigger impact on sound than 6x9s in the rear (unless you want to run with strange fader settings).

6.5" diameter by about 60mm deep (mine are 64mm and tight!) is the biggest you'll get to fit. The originals are 5.25". You will need to make, or buy mounts for them as well. I made mine out of MDF. Very easy to do! The original speakers also require drilling out as they are riveted to the door! Replace the new ones either by getting a rivet gun, or use M6 bolts in the original holes.

Well I am just fitting some hertz in my car as we speak lol

let me know how it goes big lad! need some better beats goin on in my motor haha ;)

Ok here is the thing. The standard speakers in the Furby are not that bad. The trouble is when they try and handle Bass. Which then sounds terrible. First port of call would be to upgrade head unit to something better. Then disconnect rear tweeters and add an active sub in the boot. Alpine do a little gem of an 8inch slot ported active sub. This combined with upgraded head unit and rear tweeters disconnected sounds superb.

your definatly right mate, i do have a good dd head unit, and used to run a sub and amp with them, but ive grown up from the big boom box and want space in the boot, so now, like you said after, good quality speakers at a loud volume!

disconnecting the rear tweets, sounds better??

did you get theses fitted ok what mm spacers did you use?

Yeah mate got them fitted and they sound awesome fella will have a look at the back see what size the adapters where

I've got the tweeters and the crossovers in but the speaker are to deep. I've got the mk4 golf adapters but they still need more. Which hertz speakers have you got?
