Anybody tried this clutch and flywheel?

Featured Replies

Greetings,

My flywheel is started to show signs that it might not want to play ball for much longer so currently looking for replacement options. Obviously will replace the clutch at same time whilst box is off.

Has anyone tried one of these packages from awesome before?

Car has fmic, full miltek and a custom code stage 1 map so not mega power and I've no plans to go increasing it.

Cheers.

They're not brilliant from reports I've read. It's a techniclutch kit they use I believe?

Try cg motorsport i can happily say alot better quality the the 1 awesome sell as its techniclutch n thats from the guy that sells them but

For the love of god don't get a techni clutch clutch, I managed to tear the face off a brand new one in just 8 miles!

That's the best response I've had yet. First hand experience rather than "I've heard". Thank you. Think I'm gonna give CG Motorsport a call. They should be able to sort me ouyt a package to suit my needs

Give them a quick google mate, you'll see nothing but bad things / customer service. They are re-manufactured parts, well my clutch was. Cost me £360!

thats the cheapest one ive found so far @ £295

or this on @ £575 with an uprated friction plate

not sure how good they are. im currently looking for a clutch and flywheel kit to fit when the weather improves

I have to say, the only clutches iv not heard too many bad things about are Sachs & Helix. My next clutch will be the one jase has pictured above.

And your current clutch is the one jase has now posted below

Oh yeah pmsl, still going fairly well. I think between us we have certainly had our money's worth outta it.

Yeah its definately served us well

Only really did motorway miles in mine and 1 1/4 mile day

With my driving i need an smf

I have the south bend silent smd and clutch kit and it has been really good. I did make it smoke not too long after fitting it tho as my rear calipers had seized and I had to stop on a hill for traffic lights :-( admittedly I wasn't used to the new biting point so got it completely wrong. Other than that its been superb!

South bend is good

How much for south bend tho

Read good reviews on the Southbend silent SMF setup, it's prob what I will go for when the time comes.

Agreed. I run a Southbend and its perfect for a daily.

The south-bend one isn't silent by any means though....

I have heard a few.

Mines quiet compared to others though

They all make some noise, it's just some are louder than others.

The louder the better!

Means its lighter! :)

Just a note, I've hidden the CG v Darkside comments as I have two differing accounts from CG and Darkside. As I'm not privy to the trade terms of said deals, I have to remain impartial and protect both brands. I'm not taking sides, but preventing a propaganda set of posts in an unbalanced fashion.

Can anyone link me too a south bend clutch?

Can anyone link me too a south bend clutch?

Ignore my southbend comment from a while back. Read quite a lot of failures since then!

Id go helix / sachs. Tried and tested
