Does anyone know what, if any towbars from other cars will fit a Mk1 estate? I assume a Mk4 Golf estate one will, but are there any others?

What is the difference between a hatchback/saloon towbar and the estate ones?

I can do a certain amount of mods if necessary, if it's close enough...

or this one is from a 2009. Looks pretty simple to fit - is it just the 4 bolts into the side of the chassis legs?

Looks like mine, hatch towbars fit the estate, I think 4x4 ones are lower due to them having a higher ride height so don't fit. As long it's from a golf 4 platform car it'll fit
