Correct order.... ?

Featured Replies

Right, correct me if I'm wrong (planning the detail on my new vRS), compound, polish, glaze, wax then seal?

I'm getting a 60 plate black vRS Octi soon and it will come freshly detailed by a chap used by the dealer (JCB VW in Ashford). As much as I anticipate the products used may last through the winter (I may add a coat or 2 of Zymol Classic wax), I'm just getting ideas for the spring detail.

Any comments, suggestions welcome as allways. I intend to use Menzerna compound, final finish polish, glaze to be determined (poor boys is looking good at the moment) and Zymol Titanium wax followed by a Zaino Z8 wipe down.

If it is being Machine polished by the detailer I wouldn't bother using abrasive polishes on it in the spring. Just use a safe wash routine and it will be fine. Just use a pre-wax cleanser instead. But if you want to polish then why the heck not! Are you polishing by DA/Rotary or by hand? If by hand use something like G-Techniq P1. But I'd say your plan is spot on and will look great!

I don't mean to be condesending BTW, just don't know how new or experienced you are at detailing. I'm just a weekend warrior.

I've used Poor Boys black hole and I'm not a fan, that's not to say it's not good, just my opinion when i used it. Take a look at Prima Amigo for Black. I've not used it before but seen a few black cars done with it and they looked out of this world! Best applied by DA though I believe!

Have fun buddy

I'm a weekend detailing warrior as well mate, but been doing it for a while now and had a few paying customers. I either machine polish with Menzerna or hand polish with Zaino or Auto Glym. I'm normaly right with my first gut feeling, but like to double check with the guys and gals here.

Thought you were pretty into it. You've got some class products listed there. Hope I didn't come across as condescending. Maybe pop a pic or 2 up once you're finished with it?

Naa, no offence taken mate. I'll just nick you when I see then let the Snow Drops have some fun with you, LOL

They get enough fun with some of the clowns at Honington, believe me!

seal then wax, although most sealants you can apply and leave instead of topping up with a wax.

Up to you though.
