Traction control light always on? Fault?

Featured Replies

Hi guys I'm sorry if I have posted in the wrong place but I have search high and low on here for half hour trying to see if the problem had come up anywhere. Anyway I have a fabia Vrs mk1.

Yesterday was on the way to the white rose centre on the motorway doing 70mph in the middle lane and all of a sudden the traction light (ASR) came on. It's didn't cut power or anything like that.

Anyway stopped the engine when I arrived and the light went off and started engine again and there was no light? After driving for about ten minutes or so the light comes on again. Like I say it's not cutting power from the engine or anything.

I have done a couple of tests to see if maybe it is just having a fit but nothing on the car is being effected by it.

This leads me to believe its something like a speed control sensor? I have read that it could be something to do with ABS but I don't have the abs fault light it's just the ASR light that's on. It's not flashing when it's on it's just on perminent until I stop and restart the engine. Anyone got any ideas?

I just want to see if any of you can offer any advice before I go pay 40 quid for it to be scanned at a garage. Cheers

Oh dear how did that cost ya?

Could also be a faulty acceleration sensor too which is part of the ESP system.

Mine was done under garage warranty
