How hard is it to do on a 07 Fabia vRS? Do-able with the standard 4 spoke steering wheel?

Just trying to work it out, what would be needed for it?

Thing is though..what would the buttons connect to?

I doubt they'd connect to the standard stereo as it was never intended to have steering wheel controls.

i have steering wheel controlls on my ibiza, im also plugging in the standard skoda cd player to test it shotly (sold it in the for sale section and 100% testing it with pictures before i send it out)

So can check if my steering controlls work on the fabia radio, the wiring loom seems pretty much the same so maybe

Yep, I can report my steering wheel conrolls work perfectly fine on the skoda symphony cd player (Standard radio)

Good news for people is the steering wheel controlls are only controlled by 1 single wire into the back of the radio

I have an alpine w203 plugged in, I was just wondering if I was to use a Ibiza steering wheel. Would I use just the multistalk adaptor to plug it in or would I need a certain control box?

I've no idea how it works, i just had them as standard. I just plugged the skoda Radio in to see if it works and they did, so must be an option for some people. In all honestly i do use them quite alot.

I meant on my new car, I never had steering wheel

controls on my Fabia. But now I do have them, I use them a lot.

Mine control nav, bluetooth, phonebook, stereo.

Anyone else shed some light?

i recall reading something similar to this on SCN a while back, if i remember rightly, you will need the wheel and adapters and all cables that go into the control unit and then goes into the stereo. I'm sure it might have been somebody like techie that mentioned that only certain control units are compatible, in the same way when retrofitting cruise control, but i cant remember the finer details, but certainly it isnt a 2minute job :/

Has anyone ever done this? I can imagine it will be steering wheel, airbag from ibiza, probably need the slip ring from behind wheel and then the control module. Possibly some wiring? Does anyone know where i can check part numbers to see what is compatable so i know what i need to buy

does anybody know if ETKA shows what each module is compatible with? Im sat in work bored and got thinking about this again

Got a Kenwood DNX4250DAB and now got a local fitter to fit parts behind unit. Just need steering wheels controls and wiring. Any ideas on price and where I can source these if it is possible... Thank you!
