OEM Bluetooth

Any help with module numbers and what phones there compatible with. I.e 7h0035730 module is compatible with what phones. I have an HTC desire with a custom rom.

Thanks Simon.

5k0 730 035 D worked fine with my HTC. Don't quote me on this but I think the later letter revision is important as the earlier ones used rsap technology, which the HTC doesn't have. Obviously your custom mod might help in that respect.

The D should work as a hands free / headset with anything you throw it no issues at all - it's rather standard*. It has RSAP capability which... to be honest is of limited value. Roll-on cheaper mirror sync units.

*some phonebook updates struggle with larger phonebooks, or non standard phonebooks from 3rd party apps - but most of these apps (like touchdown) have a copy to phone feature which nomalize (sic) the contacts so that they display on BT Headsets properly.

The B model is a ball ache - stay clear, I have never seen a C.

Pretty sure I have the RevD module. Will check a VCDS scan later.

Simon, if I'm able to make it to the meet this month, you can try your phone with it if you like? Only thing I can't get working is for the phone options to appear in Maxidot, but seeing as you now have a Bolero that's not a problem :)

Wary that would be great. Hopefully see you then.

Hopefully I can make it - confirmed mine is 5K0 035 730D

What's an oem bt unit cost these days please and does it stream?

Depends anything from £140 to £330 for a complete plug and play kit.. "Streaming music depends on the module Number, I think.

Mines a 7p6035730j and works fine with my bolero and iPhone 4 (which are normally more of a PITA than android). Streams perfectly both from music and spotify app.

You can get some good deals on the modules, either via some decent eBay sellers or from Eddie-NL on here.

Not sure about streaming on the D unit, it really seems to be a combination of the module revision plus what phone you have. I've not tried it on mine I must say, I'm using an HTC One V at the moment.
