Climate control

Featured Replies

Hi, have octavia elegance 1.9 tdi. My climate control when turned to Lo doesn't put out cold enough air. Will be bringing car to continent this summer but there's no way it would keep us cool, not mechanically minded so simple explanations/ instructions would be appreciated.

Wrong section but will answer anyway.

Could either be a few things:

A/C needs regassing (or a could be a leak)

Broken compressor

Another problem with wiring etc

First thing is to have the coolant checked and refilled. If this doesn't fix it then it is most likely the compressor or the clutch on the compressor.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

No idea what the Octavia system looks like,

but since you are asking in the Fabia Section.

?Do you have it on A/C or Auto.?

I drive with mine on Low almost all the time,

but without A/C on or on Auto., so not really cold, just how i like it, no heat coming through.

The A/C will not work with the "Econ" button pressed.

Any other mode as long as the ambient temperature is over 6c the A/C compressor will be working with varying levels of output to provide cooling.
