+1. I admire the cars, but do NOT admire the pillocks who drive them!

Mixed feelings tbh. Firstly though, anyone else think some of the toffs were just massive racists?

Only the one really posh sounding guy who was talking to the policeman while they seized that black Aventador. One thing that did annoy me about the residents was that in their meeting, the documentary guy asked them if any of them had spoke to the drivers who make their lives a misery. A categoric and very British 'No', which I thought was mad! The drivers aren't drunken chavs or anything so it's not like there's any danger in confronting them.

Really did strike me as the residents were on the whole jealous racists, the guys who came over in the cars seemed to be very polite and respectful lads who didn't argue the toss over things. Also not really sure what grounds that policeman stopped the guy in the Black Lambo on, surely he was driving a foreign registered car on UK roads with foreign insurance that covered him? How is that any different from someone on France on holiday popping over and doing the same?

The policeman claiming that he didn't have the ability to contact the oversees insurer surely is the fault of the police rather than the drivers.

Didn't see it, but comparing insurance outside and inside the EU is different.

In the same way UK insurance should cover you in any EU state, but you may need extra cover in certain countries outside Europe.

I know you do in Morocco from personal experience.

Agree that the residents should have just stopped them & asked politely not to rev the cars, as one of them did actually say, that if someone had spoken to them they would be more respect full of their wishes.

The middle east society still respects elders & does not, in the main, have the arrogant F U attitude to everyone else and from what I saw, none of the drivers interviewed were aggressive in their responses to the questions, unlike some of the UK chav club drivers interviewed previously on tv.

Most of them did say that when they have to get married, there will be no more toys of Ferrari's / Lambo's / Mustangs etc, it will be Land cruisers .

I did like the comment from the salesman that he only drove a cayenne 4.2 gt & it is a Honda in their country

What they didnt say was if they had to pay the congestion charge, altho like the cost of fuel, money was no object to them :giggle:

watched this last night...some of the drivers were complete tools!!....nothing to do with race....but if you are driving like a tool down a narrow street in knightsbride at stupid speeds then guess what.. the police are going to want to speak to you on a regular basis!!...Really just a nasty accident waiting to happen :(

I've yet to see it but will catch up later. What I do find strange is if I was in their position I'd be doing track days regularly. After all money is no object to them

Agree with this, if you can afford cars like that and to be able to ship them

all over the place in private cargo jets then surely it's a drop in the ocean to hire Brands Hatch

for the day. These guys were clubbing in places where certain bottles of wine were 30 grand.

There were some pretty thinly shrouded racist attitudes from the locals.

Think they were pretty pi55ed that these guys are MUCH richer than they are.

Not seen this but when im staying at the gfs i do get woken up regularly by reallly loud cars.....although there usalyat the exact opposite end of the cool wall......so i guess i can symthasis with the "toffs" on that level

Il need to watch this on demand

I thought it was entertaining! The posh lot were 'Sooooo British' and if you put yourself in their place I recon most people would tire of the antics of those drivers for 3 months solid. The idiot in the black Nissan GTR who powerslid it in the streets of London needed locking up IMO. Which sort of brings me to my point.... that it was a failure by Mr Plod to manage the situation and enforce the law where appropriate. Effective maangement of this by the police could have prevented the conflict and both sides could have co-existed more harmoniously. If we went to Quait we'd be expected to abide by their laws, so why were the motoring laws not enforced by the Met. having 1 copper on a pushbike to deal with that was ludicrous. Most of the lads seemed decent enough, just from another culture where that sort of conduct is allowable back home, so if the rules were made clear to them with concequences enforced (e.g. impounding of the cars until they left the country) when the didn't comply I think they'd soon tow the line.

Don't forget we have our own share of Kn0bs who get together and drive considerably more stupidly on our streets and out of town retail parks in cars less exotic than those on the program, a fair bit of which is on youtube!

See to me it didn't seem like they were interested in speed at all. Apart from the GTR driver & the two white Ferrari (mainly for the benefit of the lad with them I suspect) there wasn't much fast driving at all. Yeah, plenty of revving, look at me style boot it off the lights to 30mph kinda thing but that was it.

The way they were talking it came across as the trip being about the culture, style of London, enjoying their freedom before being married off. Late nights partying, rolling round the city chatting the birds up and having fun. Status, showing off a bit etc.

The visitors come here to escape strict rules on alcohol and mixing with the opposite sex. The fact that they have powerful cars and show off is due to their income and age. However Knightsbridge doesn't have suitable roads and

the police seemed slow off the mark. The residents did come over as Nimbys, you can sympathise to some extent. The programme makers sent up stuffy old Panda beautifully with music, it just needed a Spitfire rolling out over the rooftops to really take the Mick.
