Which Sat Nav?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I am new to site and have owned my Skoda Superb 2009 model, just coming up to three weeks.

This may have been answered before so I am sorry if I have bought this subject up again

The car came with a CD player (which will take six cds)

I want to upgrade this but unsure which model I am suppose to get.

I want to be able to get SAT NAV, Bluetooth for phone, Ipod connection - anything else is a bonus!

I also want the unit to be able to work with reverse sensors and Air condition controls

I have looked up some units but am confused to exactly which one I should looking at getting

Pioneer AVIC-F9310BT

Pioneer AVIC-F9210BT

RNS510

Any help or advice would be much appreciated so that I dont end up buying the wrong thing

Thanks

Sanjay

IMVHO RNS510 not worth the money and as navigation is very mediocre.

Regarding the Pioneer units - I'm not sure but I guess you will lose your connection with Maxidot...

I'd stick with some decent TomTom or something like this :giggle: .

RNS 510 is the VW version of the Columbus unit, which is Skodas best Navigation system. If you could find a used Columbus unit, this is the only model which will provide the compatibility you mentioned.

Not completely true: Also the Amundsen+ (which you see a lot in the rest of Europe) has the full compatibility. This unit has two major advantages over the Columbus:

  1. It doesn't get stolen. Somehow the only popular units in Eastern Europe are the Columbus ones.
  2. It less than half the price of the Columbus.

I'd go for the Amundsen+ (and that's what I have in my car).

I think Zenec has some maxidot compatible units.
