Slimy water intake.

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a Nilfisk C110. Just recently there has been a problem. On switch on, the pump just whines and no jet.

Traced this to a blocked inlet filter, its all slimy. I have tried prising it out, but no joy, don't want to use too much brute force and break it - sods law that will be an unavailable part.

Any one know if this should/will come out? If so, is there a trick?

I have managed to scrape out enough to get a jet, but its not brilliant.

I did consider a chemical to dissolve it but thought better of it.

So thoughts or suggestions anyone?

TIA

Nick

Have you posted up something on DW as I think that will be a better target market?

Granted but I think you will get a much quicker response on DW with approx 60,000 members specifically on the forum for car 'cleaning' related topics....... :)

No joy there either, I rfm and it says to check the filter before every use so somewhat surprising, or no one else rfm's.

Anyway, as we did have a few warmer days, I took it outside and had a closer look. The filter came out fairly easily once I got some decent pliers on it and now pops in and out like a good 'un. Left it overnight in bleach as it was covered with slime, a rinse and now all is good.

Even got time to give the bus a wash.

Thanks for that Chris, I'll drop them an email in the AM. I 'll get a couple of spares as they are quite fragile.
