Green Red or Yellow stuff

Featured Replies

Running OE spec Brembo HC discs and Pagid pads from GSF on mine. Been on there for 4 years now and they've been spot on.

I'll be replacing it all again this year though. Going with the same discs as they're great. Thought about the DS's but can't justify the money. I'll just go for OE pads again I think.

Hmmm choices suck

Anyone used these pirahna ones ?

Although hopefully another plan will hatch :D

I've used Green Stuff with great success on my toy (see pic.), and they worked extremely well from cold as well as hot, but then the car only weighed 420 Kg. ;)

Also, Green Stuff leaves minimal dust if that's an issue.

Green stuff is for mild performance like saxo's etc

I've used red twice and they are good!

Not as good as mintex 1144's :)

I personally wouldn't call 287 BHP/ton and a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds 'mild' performance, but what perhaps should be said is that Green Stuff is not necessarily the best available for your typical Eurobox if you intend to whip it hard. ;)

Lol i wasn't directing it at yourself!

Isn't green stuff recommended by EBC themselves for cars upto 200bhp?

Remember your 2 seater there weighs about as much as a loaf of bread so green stuff would probably be fine

Neither!

Ferodo DS2500's or some decent Mintex pads. The only pads ill buy ever

obviously i cant give a proper review as mine got destroyed as ya know, but all the bits that dont contact are sprayed black and dont rust so they always look cool

Got red stuff on this vrs I've rebuilt and omg they are the worst things ever

Standard are much better !!

You won't get these hot enough unless on a track day

greenstuff is apparently better on lighter stuff and under 200 brake. So hot hatches and like bigger cars like an octy would need the red stuff but as said they are cak.

Theyve changed the red a few times it seem so even harder i dunno how ud know if getting the new compound ones :(

Not ebay im guessing :D

I don't understand how people get on with the greenstuff. When I tried them, they were crap cold (really crap), not great warm, wore out REALLY quickly, and left more dust than standard pads. I don't get the whole, low dust thing. I found them messy as all heck.

you can't seriously be thinking of fitting red stuff pads lloyd after all we have said!

ferodo...end of!

I tried greenstuff on an RSturbo about 15 years ago, and they were **** then.

I had red stuff on an evo I bought, and they were **** on that.

I wouldn't fit green or red stuff to a lawn mower they are that bad.

I did fit bluestuff to my clio 172cup and they were ok on that.

A few of the evo guys say that bluestuff and the orange stuff are good though.

I like yellow pads tbh :D

Them frodos aint cheap mind :(

I must be driving too slowly ha-ha

Happy so far with my greenstuff pads, out perform the old originals for sure and lots better than the relatively new Qashqai I drove for 6 months (even with new pads and discs all round just before it went back)

As for wear I'll just have to wait and see, same with brake dust, seems OK so far however...

From the prices I can see online both orangestuff and bluestuff prices are the same region as for DS2500

I'd not take a £150 punt on pad when I know the DS2500 is going to do the job

I'd give orangestuff or bluestuff a go if someone gave me a free set of pads though

I ran red stuff and green stuff with brembo 312 disks on my octy 4x4 in the past and it is better now that it is on pagid coated 288 disks with pagid pads. OEM is good. Drilled and grooved does nothing to improve braking.

Can't comment on the ferrodo ds pads apart from to say "How much" :D

Have red ebc ones on mine at the moment and awful.last owner fitted them.will be changing to pagid black track pads when need changing as run these on my last 2 track Scoobies running lots of power and spot on with no bloody squeal when cold
