AC testing at winter

Featured Replies

My car suffered an accident, the AC radiator has a small bent (3mm) ...and I don't know how to figure if it's leaking or not.

The AC compressor won't turn on but is very cold outside, highest temp was -2.5 (on the dash) ,as I know it must be at least +5 deg C.

Is there a method to test if I still have refrigerant in the sistem? I can bring VCDS 11.11

The idea is to know if I need or not a new AC radiator

Heated garage is an idea. Just add some pipeline on exhaust to get smoke outside the garage so you don't kill yourself at trying it :D

Unfortunetely the car can't be moved, tie rod is bend and the wheels are like this \ /

tell me you had done up your road wheel bolts more than 30Nm :giggle:

Sorry to hear about your little mishap though

Undo your HPLP sensor, it's a schrader valve so it's self sealing, if the system is still pressurised you will hear a quick hiss as you undo the valve!

It's at the back of the engine bay under a silver cover with poppers holding it on.

you got me ! I tight the wheels with a hanky ,so at 30mph all 4 wheels came off

Phil...your idea is good,I thought of that, but I cannot open the hood, cable is broken ,and because of the impact the hood is out of position ,the lock is stuck

Have you got any form of VCDS? Plug in and you will be able to see a fault on the HPLP switch.

yes,my friend has VCDS,I can bring it.

It should throw up a code for low pressure if there is a problem/leak.
