snap got the same tyres on.sounds like you have windows open at times

+1 from me too. They seem quite sensitive to the type of road surface. It'd be interesting to see what other vRS owners have on theirs and what they are like compared to the contis

Hi,

My Blackline also has the Conti 225, 18's. The vRS has considerably more road noise than my previous passat estate but fine when on smooth tarmac (if you can find any!). Worst is probably country roads in poor condition for me. Generally find noise levels fine when cruising on motorways, either tarmac or concrete.

One minor annoyance I've noticed is a whistling sound when around 70mph. I think this is coming from the passenger side roof bar as noticed it is not flush to roof at the front end of the bar (it is on the drivers side and was on my old passat), probably 2mm gap. I think this small gap is causing the problem and will ask skoda to check when i take in for 1st service. I may even slap some bluetack in to see if it remedies the problem in the mean time.

Yes, little noisy from the tyres but what a great car. mpg down to 50.5 from 53 after a lot of small trips over xmas but pushing 60 today on gentle commute into Manchester.

Mines got Dunlops fitted, noisier than my fabia elegance was, but then the wheels are bigger, lower profile tyres as well.Roadsurfaces are nearly all rubbish now as well. its not as bad as you get older and more deff

Talking of tyre noise, spare wheel and tools arrived today, bought on ebay from the nice people at 'number1forskoda' (£129.99), belated Chrimbo present.

No more worries about punctures  although hope the extra weight doesn't affect the mpg otherwise I'll have to put the misses on a diet to compensate

I got the spare wheek kit a couple of weeks ago, though got mine from my dealer for the same price. Same as you griffo, don't fancy being totally reliant on a tube of gunge. I prefer to leave the wife at home where ever possible!

Can't leave her a home all the time, who would drive me to and from the pub to meet the lads!!
