Hi again guys,

Just asking this for a friend of mine, who doesn't really use the forum, well post!, He's constantly looking at build guides!

Recently he's been getting a squeak, only way I could put it, from what sounds like the front end, while the car is cold, when its drove around for a while, the sound is very close to disappearing, upon a few searches, theres something along the lines of a 13mm bolt loose? Console bushes? The front suspension bushes have meant to have been changed recently.

Is there any trail and error methods to do first before biting the bullet for expensive work?

I recon its the top mount bearings

I put it up on stands the weekend and can only replicate if i stand on a sill and bounce up and down

I gt85'd the shoite out of anti roll bar bushes front and back and the console bushes to no avail ?

In some topic theres something about a 13mm bolt being loose, now I can't imagine how many will be under there, but thats hit and miss as well. It doesn't effect my drive at all, its just god damn annoying!

Hi, new to this but have read and listened to your "squeaking" this is exactly what mine sounds like- sometimes it is really loud esp if its been raining....which is quite often!!

The noise is quite embarrassing going over speed bumps sort of a creaky/ squeaking sound which is quite loud! However when trying to replicate it by bouncing it, doesnt work

I have been reading through the various threads but there doesnt appear to be a definitive answer- yet seems to be quite a common problem....can anyone help so I can give my mechanic some sort of idea!! Thankyou

Hi - just joined the site. My Fabia 03 does the same, but only in cold weather! Take care!

Not sure if this is the same thing but I changed the top mount on mine and it solved the issue. Mine squeeked under steering and over bumps.
